MREA presents the Educator of Excellence Awards to recognize, reward, and promote excellence in education that achieves the highest outcomes for Greater Minnesota students. This award honors inspiring educators who demonstrate:
- Positive impact on students and student achievement
- Leadership in the school, district and community
- Innovative and creative instructional practice that impact all students
- Collaborative efforts with fellow educators, parents, families and the community
Nominations for 2016 Educators of Excellence must be received by April 28, 2017.
Who’s eligible?
To qualify, educators need to be directly involved in PreK-12 education within current MREA member school organizations and employed under the terms of a teacher master agreement.
Who can nominate?
School staff, colleagues, students, parents or community members may submit nominations.
What’s the selection process?
- Nominations will be categorized into MREA’s four membership zones.
- Each judge will review all nominations within a single membership zone.
- One honoree will be selected from each zone.
MREA will notify all nominees and nominators of their nomination status by August 31, 2016. MREA will present the awards at a banquet during the Annual Conference.

July 26-27: Nominations Review by Judges
August 1-31: Nominee Notification
